20일^일 Dec,2021, ams OSRAM announced that it would sell its Fluence plant lighting system business and brand to Signify for US272 million (approximately RMB 1.734 billion) in accordance with the principle of debt-free cashless (DFCF) acquisition. The two parties have signed a final agreement, and the transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022, subject to approval by the standards regulatory authority.

Currently, Fluence's largest source of income is the legal cannabis cultivation market in North America. In the past year (October 2020 to September 2021), Fluence achieved revenue of 114 million U.S. dollars (approximately RMB 899 million).

In the future, Fluence will operate independently under Signify's Digital Solutions division (including the plant lighting business).

Through this acquisition, Signify will obtain Fluence's multi-channel market entry strategy in the North American plant lighting market. At the same time, its existing knowledge and expertise will complement Fluence's plant lighting technology, and Fluence's patents in the plant lighting field will also help Signify to further expand the North American plant lighting market.
